Team tracks and transload facilities are an important part of day-to-day railroad operations. They are found in rural countrysides, small towns, and large cities. These non-dedicated sidings do not serve any one specific industry such as a lumber yard, coal yard, etc. They are available for use by any local business as needed. Virtually all types of freight cars can be on/off loaded here. Even MOW and some passenger train equipment might utilize a team track from time to time.
