I have a Odyssey era PS4 that was damaged during shipping.  The tender trucks are shattered.  The Lionel site shows that frames or complete trucks for this model are unavailable.  I dont know the parts landscape or repair options.  I would have no issue replacing the trucks and moving the center rail contacts and tender rear coupler mechanism (within reason, dont have a micro machine shop).  I would welcome putting sprung trucks on (Noticed Kadee does not have any O gauge trucks or wheels though) or even just using another lionel six wheel truck that is available.  Does anyone with more experience have suggestions?  Would appreciate it as I would like to understand my options.

On a related topic, to test out the engine itself can I pair it with another Odyssey era tender that also has the wireless tether?  Would like to see if the engine runs before putting work into the tender.  Come to think of it, can I run the engine without the tender?  I have never tried that...

Thanks in advance!

If the trucks are NLA, and there is no substitute easily adapted, you can send the tender to me and I’ll install MTH trucks of the same type that belong on this rig…..yes, you can run an IR equipped engine solo with out a tender…..you can also play musical tenders to your heart’s delight as long as they are of the same Oddesy vintage, and the drawbars cooperate ….you can’t put legacy tenders behind older TMCC/Oddesy engines, as the serial data stream is different …you can reach me via profile

thanks Pat, appreciate the response and offer.

I will wait for the response from the shipper to see what they will support/if they will support repair.  I fully expect they will but need to talk to them first.  Wanted to try and figure out if repair was even an option with the original parts unavailable from Lionel.  Sounds like it could be based on your response so that is good information.
