That Perrenial Question, Modfied: What do you want MTH/Lionel/etc. to make that they already have the models for?

I’d like to see Legacy EMD F3/7 A’s sold separately with Electro-couplers on both ends. And offer more less common roads that bought F3/7’s until all of those roads are covered. 

Likewise with less common roads that purchased GP7/9’s and smaller switchers (all makers, e.g., EMD, ALCO, Baldwin, etc.)

A rerun with another road number for the MTH C-16 Docksider. For whatever reason, MTH did three runs of the B&O scheme and kept using the same number, 97. MTH could have done 96, 98 and 99, as well. (No. 98 would have made the most sense as a second number, given that both 97 and 98 worked their whole lives in their original configuration as saddle-tank switchers.)

A scale Santa Fe Hudson by Lionel or MTH

Mth did one back in 2004 MT 20- 3135-1, and 2006 , MT 20-3144-1

Lionel has done some compressed Santa Fe "like" lettered ones. ( one of my favorite ones "warhorse 6-18062, fantastic sound)

(Not everybody can run an ATSF Northern...a Hudson gets us down to a reasonable 0-42 curve)

I'd like to have an MTH Docksider with the same drive rods and linkages as the real one - ROW made a brass one that looked fantastic.

But I would have to have it in conventional.

I have a 20-135-1. It's a beautiful locomotive. MTH did reissue these with PS3 about 7 years ago:

Maybe for MTH but recently Lionel has proven otherwise.

I would love to see them make PRR M1b #6755, as seen in Strasburg.  They have made the M1a a couple of times as well as the J1.  The last M1b was 2008, I think.

A Legacy Hudson would also be nice, in my opinion.

My favorite engine to run is my MTH Interstate Railroad ex-PRR L1 Mikado. The Interstate bought 4 engines from PRR in 1940,two L1s and 2 H10 2-8-0s. I figured if the L1 came in IRR that the H10 would too in a future release but it hasn't.

Legacy GP9, GP35, GP38 and SD40 in Penn Central paint.

Lionel EMD E7 in New York Central's early Beauty Queen paint scheme. 3rd Rail has done them (hard to find) and MTH did an E6 like this but NYC never had E6's and Scott doesn't seem too hot to do them again. First one to do one gets my money.

Most of the Lionel designs take up way too much real estate, but if you look at the American Flyer/Lionel/MTH reissues they fit almost any layout nicely. Accessories like the Flyer Barrel loader, Coaling tower, and Sawmill look good on an O gauge layout, easily fit in smaller spaces and are realistic. If MTH or Lionel decides to run these again, I would say please make them for conventional operation.

I agree with the conventional option.  I actually shied away from a couple lionel accessories because I didn't want to bother with modifying the plug and play / track power connections.  I like being able to have accessories activated by buttons when walking around the track.

Atlas or Lionel SW-9 in Ma & Pa livery!

The new MTH catalog has a Peoria & Eastern Geep.  I want more lesser known names like that.  Columbus & Greenville, Algoma Central, Chicago & Eastern Illinois come to mind.  

I want one loco, 3 to 4 cars to represent late 60’s passenger trains OR mixed trains!  An E8, F3, or GP9 would be the power.

RPO cars in Railking.

For RK passenger cars with colored stripes, extend the paint across the door instead of stopping before the door.

The newly restored ROCK 4506  GP7 diesel-electric locomotive at the Illinois Rail Museum could be produced in O scale by Lionel or MTH to match all of THE ROCK blue and white O scale freight cars produced over the past 25 years. It must have dual motors to pull as many freight cars as possible.

A new proposal as the result of looking through some NKP loc rosters last night

FM “Baby Trainmaster” (Lionel did some ca 2002 or so, forget the exact model number FM did great locos but I’d hate to be the guy trying to order parts for them and remember their complex designations), in the early NKP diesel scheme. It’s an unusual prototype in a lovely scheme and I think people would buy the heck of it.

Also, it would be interesting to see Wabash/Ann Arbor FAs in a Lioncheif set, it would be a nice nod to the Michigan history Lionel has and mentions of car ferry operations would make good ad copy.

It would be interesting to see Lionel merge the tank portion of the PW style operating water tower with the legs of the gantry crane, so that loco tenders could be spotted underneath the tower and not so much layout space given over to locomotive servicing.

A report of the oringinal X2478 PRR Auto double door boxcar from the prewar/early postwar would be neat, maybe done from ex-Kline molds... maybe with a model of a 1941 Ford stuffed inside it? 

Another thought is some kind of scale boxcar only with modified roof to be removable and one of those Sears catalog houses stuffed inside? One of my history colleagues did a story with an illustration of that, and if by some wonder the house could be removed from the car and assembled I think people would be really wowed.

A Plasticville Cape Cod cottage, suffiently hacked up, could probably be stuffed into a scale PS-1...

It's about time both MTH and Lionel made some conventional engines with lights and a whistle, this would keep prices down and make trains more afforable for the next generation to get started in model railroadinkg. Some others would buy engines like this and non-powered equipment to show on their layouts and shelves.  A  win-win for buyers and sellers.

"molds?" for?  Unless that was a handmade prototype of a McKeen car MTH once dangled before our eyes at York, there is an unused mold that should be used or leased to some mfr., if one exists.

Any idea who did these or where they came from?  Might be a one off. I think the yellow/blue separation line  below the cab should have been angled.

Just curious as its been difficult to find any others

They did that with PS2. One went up for auction this past Friday on Stout auctions. Why #6755? That number has been used several times on M1's from Weaver to MTH to Lionel scale models. There are other road numbers to use!

Atlas, Bachmann(from K-Line), Lionel and MTH all have the O scale highly-detailed F7 A-units. They can make more EMD F7 diesel-electric locomotive railroad paint schemes. One railroad in particular they have not gotten around to producing is the Soo Line. The Soo Line had EMD F7 A-units in the 1950's paint scheme and the 1960's paint scheme.

Given the visible battery cover under the lead unit, these are repainted postwar units.  The VIA units with the CN worm did have an angle:

As VIA didn't have F3's, only FP7's and FP9's (which are 4' longer than a standard F,) I wouldn't worry about the lack of an angle on the paint.
