Aloha Brothers and Sisters,

It's that time of year when, nostalgia running high, we think back to the many o-gauge memories of past. In doing a it's only fair we think about possible lapses in judgement that we might have to atone for. A particularly good blowout sale, a rare eBay auction or even just one more box unnoticed under the layout are all the sort of thing I'm speaking of.

It is for those of you who may have lapsed here or there and might have something you need to get off your chest that I humbly offer my services. Feel free to bear your soul, for the amusement of all, and I'll attempt to serve up some advice, penance or commiseration.

The confessional is nondenominational and should be viewed strictly with tongue in cheek. No slight is intended towards any religion and we use the vehicle of the confession simply for its nature. If this thread bothers you I'm deeply sorry as no offense is intended but this is old and familiar territory for some of us and no harm or foul is intended.

It's the view of the O-gauge confessional that all of us are sinners and prone to foibles and mistakes. That said we can all benefit from laughing with each other and not at each other. Gentle ribbing is fine but let's be gentle and not malicious. Things typed, once read, can never be forgotten.

With that I've parked myself on a comfortable seat and have hung my "Open" shingle out. Let's hear what you've been up to lately.

Best,

Brother Yojimbo

Bless me Padre for I have sinned  ....

I have to confess that I failed to get even a simple circle set up under the tree this year.  Even though I had a 'new to me' Protosound 2-8-0 ready to go with Christmas music cued on the mp3, the season came and went too quickly.  My redemption is I finally got the guest room layout table shoe horned in such that I did not have to disassemble anything for my sister's annual Holiday Visitation   ...so it saw plenty of incarnations there.

However, for my penance I will offer at least 15-20 rotaries every weekend from now until next Christmas.

While we're on the confessions, I've got several.  Got behind on my train building.  Got site ready and when able to start construction, the monsoon set in North Carolina.  Wettest summer, fall, and now winter in a long time.  Building not built, wife upset due to trains still in the house (she's going to take the train storage room for her musical instruments), which in turn meant two more Christmas trees not up in the house, no train around the tree, and no tree in the train building, and no layout started.

At least I'm consistent.  Ending 2013 behind and 2014 is starting out behind, plus it rained here again today.
