The Blue Comet Turns 90

The Blue Comet ran around our Christmas tree this year.

Here’s some additional info: the Comet’s observation car was used as a temporary station in Pt. Pleasant Beach on east side of NY&LBRR tracks when old stone station was demolished for highway expansion, if I remember correctly this was in late 60’s. Another passenger car from Comet was used as a yard office at Bay Head loop for years. Comet engines were used on NY&LBRR pulling coaches, Pt. Pleasant Beach historical Society has b/w film of them, I have a VHS copy they sold for a short period years ago.

Just for clarity the documentary is titled “DE LUXE The Tale of the Blue Comet” by Robert A. Emmons Jr. I know this is correct because I have an autographed copy of the DVD.
