All of these listed below were full O scale models. MTH and K line have made traditional sized O gauge versions.

3rd rail---issued a Dreyfuss J3 once in conjunction with the Golden gate Depot release of 20th century limited cars.The cars were available in 1938 and 1940 versions .

williams---issued a Dreyfuss J-3 at least twice. The first release was not a good runner. The second release was in their Masterpiece series I think and seemed like an excellent and good running model

weaver----Issued a Dreyfuss at least once in 1992 as part of their Gold Edition series.There were two versions; a standard tender version with Boxpok drivers and cab no.5445 and a second version with a PT tender.

MTH--- Issued a Dreyfuss J3 at least 3 times , all with PS-2 . The locomotive with the standard lenght tender was done twice and with the PT tender at least once. Versions with the PT tender and the second release of the standard tender. Could be had with Scullin Disc (cab no 5452 std tender cab no.5453 PT tender) or Boxpok drivers (cab no. 5446 PT tnder, cab no 5447, std tender) so appropriate cab numbers should have been used. The initial release with standard lenghth tender had boxpok drivers and had cab no 5445.

Lionel --- Issued it twice. The first release was a highly detailed 2 rail model, cab no. 5450 which was part of their Smithsonian series. A three rail somewhat less detailed version was also made. Lionel had fully detailed Brass cars made for this locomotive. I think theire were about twenty cars and they were about $500 each. A second release of a Dreyfuss J3 was about 2000 or so and was the standard tender lenghth It was cab no. 5452. It had Scullin disc drivers. Lionel made a set off its 16 inch cars for this loco. These cars had detailed interiors. Lionel announced a Legacy version of this loco with the catalog showing Boxpok drivers. This release was subsequently cancelled by Lionel.

There is a wide variation in the grey colors used for these various models. Some folks like the color of Lionels 2000 release as being closest to the prototypes grey.

There were 2 prototype Empire State Express Dreyfuss styled Hudsons which were differrent from the 20th Century Limited Dreyfuss Hudsons.I need to do a little more research for these.

Lionel had a century club two release. The engine is cab no 5429. The lionel model has a feature to remove some of the streamlining to date it to the postwar period. There was a Black PT tender add on option from Century club which with removal of some of the engine's streamlining probably making an interesting locomotive.

MTH made it at least twice. The first release was a proto sound 1 version and the second release was a protosound 2 version. Bothe cab nos 5429 and 5426 were available each time.

Weaver I think released one as part of their Gold Edition series. It is cab no 5426

3rd rail Released an Empire State Hudson to go with the ESE cars from Golden Gate. It is cab no 5429.

Karl Kantola designed the original C. Vanderbilt streamlining.

Henry Dreyfuss (or his organization) styled the 2 Mercury K-5 Pacifics.

There were 13 Dreyfuss-styled NYC 4-6-4's:

10 original Century-style J3a's, streamlined when built by Alco (Scullin/Boxpok drivers - 50/50 I think).

C. Vanderbilt J1e 5344 re-streamlined in the Dreyfuss style (already had Scullin drivers; different
balancing "hole" pattern).

2 Empire State Express J3a Hudsons (5426 and 5429); also styled by Dreyfuss or his organization; streamlined in 1941.

So, 13 "Dreyfuss" Hudsons.

A Mercury and Vanderbilt are NOT "Dreyfuss Hudsons." They are as built, but NOT Dreyfuss Hudsons as the the name designates.That name applies to ten J3a's only, of which the 5344 was made to be a part of the new machines.The 5344 later on went to become a part of the NYC ESE team.

I see that proper quotation mark usage may not be your thing, but he used quotation marks to highlight "Dreyfus" as in "Dreyfus" Hudsons, as opposed to "Dreyfus Hudsons."

Who was that other "guy that" like to put "in" random quotation "marks?"

Unless you are inferring that D500 is Vox, you all need to bite your tongues. If you don't like what I say, put me on your ignore list. I've already notified the webmaster of these posts. Nope, wasn't VOX, posting style totally different. This is just another alias from the same guy that used FEED WATER and a couple of other handles in the past; he always posted on things releated to specific PW Lionel threads as well as those related to Hudsons (both prototype and Lionel) and ended up using quotation marks in almost every ending sentence when he started getting confrontational; VOX never did.

Probably won't be long unfortunately until he tries another short-lived return with yet another different handle in uppercase relating to Hudson-related steam engine parts. Roll Eyes

Yes, that was another trait; if he made a statement purporting to be fact and someone ever corrected him on it he would either get all sarcastic on you and others or flat out blow his top. In either case, he would hardly ever refuse to admit he was wrong. It's as if he absolutely couldn't stand being corrected. Oh yeah, he would also deny provoking anyone and would openly threaten to report people to the webmaster as well as always being cryptic with some of his sources of information.

There are a few other patterns he shows that make him easy to spot whenever he returns, including but not limited to, not taking a hint whenever he's been booted off the previous time. Wink
