After a period in which not many Santa Fe diesels were produced, we now anticipate or have just received:

  • Zebra striped Alco RSD7's and RSD15's, as well as EMD SW9's, from Atlas O;
  • Santa Fe freight F7's and FT's without cable tethers from MTH;
  • Zebra striped Fairbanks-Morse H16-44's from Lionel;
  • Rednose F7's from Atlas O;
  • Rednose, yellow bonnet, and blue freight F7's from Sunset;
  • E6's without tethers from MTH;
  • Rednose E8's from Sunset.

When it rains, it pours.  I dare not mention Santa Fe steam, lest the rain increase.

Have you experienced this with your favorite railroad?

And yet.....

The two Chico-choices I'd like to see done in O3R continue to be elusive...

1) A Prairie-type steamer....preferably 1800-class, but 1050-class would probably ease the pain of absence.  We came so close.....but not close enough.....with a Sunset 3rd Rail solution to this one.

2) An EMC E1 A-B in all of Leland Knickerbocker's glorious 'Guerre Chapeau' iconic paint.   In fact, I'd even sign up for this one's eastern kinship, the B&O EA....for which my heart only beats about 1% less slowly at the thought thereof!  Sure, E6's are close......but not worthy of the cigar that a well done ATSF E1 and B&O EA would garner.

Sigh........

Oh well, dreams are less expensive......but not nearly as satisfying.

I have a copy of the 2006 Weaver catalog. That would have constituted a flood of N&W. I 'm really sorry that I missed that one. Over the years, I have successfully collected most of the N&W offerings from that catalog.

I have been begging for correct N&W Hoppers, Caboose(s), S1a, and Z1b engines. Were they to hit all at once, it would be a real drain on the budget.
