The original Standards did not have the headlights under the frame like that  That was a result of an overhaul of cars in the 1950's  Sealed beams were one addition of the overhaul  The Standards were Stillwell designed  Same as the Erie commuter cars that everybody lauds as probably one of the best passenger cars for its time.  If you look at older pictures the sealed beams were not there at all  Pictures from the remainining cars from the late 50's to retirement in the late 60's had the sealed beams
