When you do you full review, ensure you test with Quilling and Steaming whistle enabled, and then play the PFA sequence.

Update- just to be 100% double check sure:

I've downloaded and checked the posted sound file specific to this engine https://mthtrains.com/20-3817-1 and confirmed the sound file has the bad segment as delivered.

Again, caution, you will get this sound in this posted video when playing the PFA if quilling whistle is also enabled. https://ogrforum.ogaugerr.com/...6#163180074756537156

#1 based on my testing and downloading different sound files once they were posted to the various MTH pages for this run of Heavy Pacfics my answer is yes, it seems to affect all of them. By that I mean specifically all the recently released 2022 produced Heavy Pacifics with whistle steam- the sound files have the same glitch. For reference, I got one engine from Marios, one from Berwyns, different road names, and yes, both have different sounds and files, but have the problem. So not dealer specific, not a one off, I could test different sound files trying to fix the problem and every single one tested failed and had the glitch.

#2 Yes, you can turn on steaming whistle without quilling, and it works. Again, the PFA and the sound glitch is exposed only when quilling whistle is also enabled.

It would be nice for @MTH to acknowledge the problem, say somethingofficial and provide resolution.

It's likely going to take someone like you raising awareness of the problem to actually get these sound files fixed officially.

There's a workaround fix until the file is corrected. Turn off the quilling whistle (SPW soft key), but leave the smoking whistle on, before playing the PFA sequence. After the PFA sequence is over turn the quilling whistle (SPW soft key) back on. Problem solved.

No, that is not "problem solved", that is a work around.

If you paid $1300 or more for one of these engines, let alone 2 of them ($2600+), expecting MTH to address and acknowledge the problem which was sent to them back in July- let alone fix it is the right thing to do.

And, realize, this is not just one engine. This is every steam engine (the Heavy Pacifics) they made and sold, every road name, every paint scheme-ALL of them, from that July through now release. I don't know how many engines they made, but it is a decent sized list of roadnames.

Yes, even special runs for dealer like Pat's, Berwyns, Mr Muffins, and others.

And, there are even more engines produced in the same time period the above list of 4-6-2s, I also checked these PS-4 during a discussion helping another member and they too are confirmed with the same sound file problem.

If you heard the offending ear shattering bad sound file segment in person and it was on your brand spanking new $1300+ engine, you might be worried it would damage the speaker or blow the amplifier. It certainly isn't good and definitely you will jump the first time you hear it.

#1 people need to know about it

#2 MTH needs to address it officially, and provide a warning, and a fix.

#3 People doing reviews need to know about it and at least address the warning aspect of this to help users not invoke it until there is an official fix.
