Nope, it is an error in the documentation, I missed a connection as I changed that diagram for the SC-II.  I've attached the corrected document file.  This was pointed out to me by another user a few days ago.

Thanks for the notice, new packages will have the corrected document.

Can I integrate a Super-Chuffer II with a TAS Turbo Smoke AC unit or would this be redundant? I'd like to obtain the lighting effects of the Super Chuffer. Or should I just use both separately?  Have the Super Chuffer on order.

This is for a 3rd Rail Q-1 where the TAS EOB board has failed and I will replace with an ERR Cruise Commander with Railsounds.

Terry

Well if the TAS Turbo Smoke is chuffing properly, that would be somewhat redundant.  You can, of course, just use the light features and simply not wire the Super-Chuffer to the smoke fan, no reason that won't work.  To use just the lighting features, you'd have to connect these six wires to the Super-Chuffer, the other wires are not required.

Just looked at the cruise commander manual on the 3rd rail website and I see they have changed the terminal block...  No longer a chuff input!  ??

How does this affect the super-chuffer?

Terry

I don't know what that is they've documented, I have no idea why they'd blow up the Cruise Commander!  It's stupid to take the pin for the chuff and make it into a duplicate antenna pin, that's crazy!

In any case, you can just tie the chuff to pin 17 of the R2LC socket, that's the chuff input.

I’ve never used the chuff input on the Cruise Commander, just the Rail sounds commander

Not any more Matt!  The new RailSounds Commander requires a totally isolated chuff switch.  I actually removed that capability as it was not really needed, and I wanted to offer full motor control of the smoke motor.  You better read above.

I'll have to find out if they really changed the Cruise Commander board, what is documented there is NOT the current Cruise Commander, it's the old version that is years old!  I haven't seena V3.4 board in many years!  This is from the 3rd Rail site.

This is what I've been getting from ERR for a very long time!  Version 4.1 is the current version, I can't imagine why they'd license the ancient version, that would be really low class!

I think Scott just has the wrong document for the Cruise Commander.

Thanks for following up on this for us!  Good news!

Just one small error still in manual..  Still says you may connect the antenna to pin 1 of the block... Most will figure out this is not correct!

But again thanks for your research!

Terry

I don't see an error, but the text is in blue.

Read carefully, it is telling you where the single pin connector is, it's between J6 and the screw terminal row pin 1.  It doesn't say to connect it to the screw terminal.  Perhaps it could have been worded more clearly, but it is correct.
