I was giving some of my lads a workout, and as I was looking around... I just felt, this is it... I felt genuine contentment.

I'm totally jealous of you guys. I miss the days and nights when I could go into my train room, throw a switch and my train world would light up and be ready to go. I'm still framing the new layout and have a long way to go before I lay rail. Don

My layout still needs a few things to make it run again but a loop of FasTrack on the floor works well to provide my "fix".  It also provides incentive to go put some time in on doing what I have to do to be able to run trains on the layout again.

Trains, especially locomotives, have always been my main thing. To me, a layout is the frame, a changing frame, for the subjects in the picture... the trains.

Don remembering  your last layout, I'm totally sure when your done with this new one it will be so beautiful we will be Jealous of you. Your last layout was total craftsmanship and expertize.

Rick B - Like you I didn't have a real vision as a kid for the future model railroad.  I just knew I needed to have more trains and a good-sized permanent layout.

When my wife and I were looking for our current, and hopefully last, home a builtin garage that could be converted for trains was a requirement.  We now have that.

The layout has all the detail I require, I have a variety of trains to run, the trains run well, and the train room is right off the kitchen.  Couldn't ask for anything more!

And don't forget a Loco-Moco plate lunch for breakfast or during the noon hour (preferably from a lunch wagon if they also have them on Maui)!
