Although these are not trains, but these vehicles were produced back when they used they as advertising vehicles. I think these would be cool to model and have on our layouts.

We had a tour of the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile when our girls were young. It was parked in the shopping center near us, and two young women were with it. They invited us to look inside. Too bad it was so long ago, I forget the details, but it was Pretty slick.

Somewhere on the Forum someone posted photos of the old panel truck advertising a Lionel service facility in California, I believe, from way back. It would be a favorite advertising vehicle on Roger's thread!

They are all great, but especially the first two and the Oscar Meyer Ice. The ice van is a really neat piece of late-Deco design and I wish someone would make it in 1/43 so I could have one on my layout.
I'm thinking of how I could bash a '32 pickup into that Blatz truck.

The 1955 MOW command vehicle would make a nice Chicken Dinner candy truck. 2014 signature catalog.
This is terrible! Don't you think it's about time we start considering how these creative ideas may be over taxing Lee's workload. I just bet his things to do list doubled in size.
Lee seems to knock them out in a heartbeat, so I think we just keep piling them on.
Those,without a doubt,would be great to see produced in a size that would work for O guage.

through several renditions. One series of vehicles I expected to see above and
did not, was that number of them over the years built for a New England soft drink
maker whose name my weak mind cannot pull up at the moment. Somebody in the northeast can probably chime in.

did not, was that number of them over the years built for a New England soft drink
maker whose name my weak mind cannot pull up at the moment. Somebody in the northeast can probably chime in.
If you do find that book that you mentioned, please let us know the title. My first love are vehicles, but I like anything that smokes and rolls.
The man behind a lot of those art deco designed car / trucks was Milwaukee's own, Brook Stevens. An industrial designer who was way ahead for his time period!
Especially the Wienermobile and also designed the The Hiawatha and others trains for the Milwaukee Road. There were a lot of futuristic designed products back in the 30's, 40's and 50's that he had his hand on!
A fun fact about Brook Stevens is that he designed the "Boomerang" pattern that was used on the Formica which covered the counters in the Hiawatha!
My first house had the same boomerang pattern on the kitchen counters.

Most of those have floated around the car forums for years. I'd like to build replicas of the egg truck and Oscar Myer truck. Both are very cool Deco based vehicles.

Hershey Kissmobile is fairly recent, there is one at the AACA Museum in Hershey.

That GM Cruiser was built in the early 1950's and one of them, which had been fully restored, sold at Barrett Jackson auction just a few years ago for an ungodly price, somewhere over a million, as I recall. One wonders what the buyer plans to do with it.
