I learned something new last week so I figured I would share it, along with a process on how we use it. For decades I have used adhesive transfer tape to laminate layers, primarily laser scored and cut acrylic plastic. Steps and timing evolves and varies so as to best take advantage of time saving for the painting/masking/painting steps. We use 2" wide 3M 467MP, the width because it is relatively easy to handle during application and the product number because of high performance for our use.
Then comes the need for narrower pieces for special application, like securing a second glazing material behind the primary glazing. Old practice was to layer strips of 2" 467MP on top of each other, say 6 or 7 times. Then a straightedge was used to slit the stacked tape in the needed widths, say 1/16". Time consuming with 75% positive results with each piece.
Enter in 3M Double Sided Stick Red Tape for mobile phone LCD display screen panel repair, available in 1mm, 2mm and 3 mm widths. Ready to use in various thin widths, produces positive results and available from your favorite internet seller that delivered to your door in two days by typing in the description above.
Pictures below show how the tape has been used to install the translucent material that we use behind the primary Roscolux Grey glazing. The photos show the material that we use for the translucent glazing, a cutting template that is used for like-sized strips, the 3M narrow tape, the before, the tools and the after.

Original Post

Good tip. I stumbled into using double sided tape when I used it to temporarily stick sidewalks onto my layout and found out it was almost impossible to remove that temporary sidewalk.

I was talking to my friend last week who is a master model builder and he says he laminates just about everything with double sided tape.

Having some tiny strips should help with the tiny pieces.

Thanks for the tip. (Your product looks great also)
