Hey guys so I've been looking around on the forum and ive noticed ppl will have those little tiny pictures or animated trains in their signatures.  Anyone know what they're called and how to get them? I have technofear and dont really know where to start or what they're called.  Anyone know?

It's called a GIF file. Look here. Copy or download the embed file. I did that here.

Nice gif, but I do know what a gif is, no worries I understand your line of thought.  I finally went out and did what i should have done which is find an example of the dang thing.  

One of THESE is an example.  Anyone know where to get one?  Sorry for the confusion im not good at putting the words together and having it come out in a way that makes sense to most people when i dont know what on earth im talking about.

They're called "horizontal rules." Tandem Associates has Lionel horizontal rules here and American Flyer horizontal rules here.

Right click on the image that you like and select "save as." You will be prompted to save it somewhere on your computer.

 

AHAAAAAAAAA  I actually did some more research and i think they're also called "sprites."
