We are four weeks away!
It is time to announce the biannual Thursday morning pre-York breakfast.
April 19, at the Round-the-Clock Diner, just east of the intersection of Route 30 and Interstate 83.

All are invited!
I will put a reservation under my name and the diner graciously segregates about 6 to 8 tables(or more if we need it).
We start arriving at about 730 and usually leave to get to the fairgrounds around 10-1030.

This is a great time to meet all your friends and acquaintances from around the country.
York first timer? Traveling alone or in just a small group? Come and join your fellow York adventurers.

Put a face with a name. Come share your stories for the last few months. Make new friends. It's always a great time.

Just leave your name in this thread so I can get a headcount for the diner.

Peter, I think I will be making a day trip to York this spring, probably Thursday.  If I can get rolling early enough, I'll be at breakfast, though may get there late.

We are dropping a good bit of money into two ACL operations for the little dog who likes to bark at my trains.  Therefore, I thought I may not go to York at all, but registered anyway.  I now have a Pick-Up-At-York deal to complete, and am going to list a few more items today.

Here is the poor pooch, who probably hurt the ACLs jumping off that couch.

Folks - I will miss breakfast this time around. My son came home today and informed me he had been named his high school's student of the month for April for the sophomore class.  Turns out there's a celebratory  breakfast with the faculty at 7:00 am on the 19th so obviously I will be attending that before heading to the meet. I'll miss everyone but hopefully will see many of you around the fairgrounds.

Peter, I am a proud member of the NJHR and have been a proud wearer of the Trainstock hat for years. This year, however, I will be wearing a Philadelphia Eagles hat. The first professional football game I ever attended was the 1960 NFL Championship. The Eagles beat the Packers. Its been a long time.

Gerry.....I know how proud you must be......the Eagles are are great "feel good" Story.

I think Philly has the best sports stadium set up with everything in South Philly, easily accessible by the Broad Street subway.

See you soon,

Peter

BTW, I've been wearing my Villanova hat lately!

(instead of my RR hats)

And after breakfast, if you get to the Fairgrounds with nothing to do until noon....

Stop by and visit my portable layout.  Trains running, whistles blowing, DCS dcsing...

I've been bringing my portable layout to York for a few years now.  Gives me something to do as we wait for the grand opening, (weather permitting.)

Just look for the big grey van, with its teeny tiny layout, about 100' in front of the purple Hall doors in the RV parking area!

Stop by and say, "Hi"... no headcount required

Peter, hope the piggyback on your thread is OK!

Thanks Peter!  Me and the missus have no idea where he got his "brains" from but we're glad the good Lord blessed him.

You're a 'Nova guy? My niece is a proud graduate. I'm old, but remind me to tell you my first recollection of Villanova.

Very cool. Not only are you ahead of the NJHR in your use of DCS, but now I understand how you were able to get all those treasures home from Trainstock!

Gerry

I just got off the phone with the manager of the Round-the-Clock Diner and made our reservation.....he is excited to show off the newly renovated diner.....

PLEASE NOTE........we have room for everyone who may change their mind or who hasn't signed up yet......come and share breakfast and feel the pre-York excitement.......as I have said before, it's a great place to put a face with a name.....the reservation is for 0830...I'll be there around 0800.

Peter

Gerry,

I have a picture on my smart phone that is priceless and can be used to blackmail someone. You are in for a good laugh as this person was wearing an Eagles jersey!

If it's Marty, I will pay any price to get a copy.

Yeah, everyone is trying to find the engines and rolling stock that delights them. Hey, don't forget to keep a good eye out for those great deals. Someone picked up something for free in October's Meet last year because of a sign that said something like, "if you stop and read this, it's free". I believe that was in one the Member's Hall, which when I went through was crowded.

Make sure you show us your deals or good buys.

I think with the passing of some older train folks and others not able to attend this time or unable to attend them at all. also the postwar era on the down low this is the modern day york where the enthusiasm is more on chatting with friends as a social event.

I noticed this change 3 years ago as yes the bandit meets were raved about and post after post of the rare finds that were found on the first day of them as well as the first day of the tca eastern division extravaganza.

nary a mention yesterday of the new items shown and or talked about at the museum of where I haven't a clue as to its location in regards to york area.
