Andy and Julia are two great people. Over the years I have ordered from Andy. Recently I was on their website and came across a Weaver flat with trailer. A Pacific Great Eastern. Site said one left. So I ordered it. Unfortunately the site was not up to date. One night I got a call from Andy explaining that. He said he was going to be in my part of the country and had located that car for me and would get it to me as soon as possible. Well I got that car. Not too many places would do that or go that far. Thanks.....................Paul

Sounds like something Andy would do.  I miss seeing Andy and Julia at York.  They had a small corner booth at York in the Orange Hall just around the corner from Ross Custom Switches.  But they stopped attending York a few years ago... reportedly due to travel expenses outweighing sales income at York.  Understandably, it's a long haul from Oregon.

 

I often purchased Andy's Atlas-O "special runs" back then... reefers, tankers, and also a series of GN boxcars.  Very nice people.

I've never dealt directly with Andy, but through my LHS.  I check his website, make my order, and I get a call from the LHS that the order has arrived.  Magic.  Always first rate product.  

 

Recently, someone at a swapmeet was selling Weaver cars, decorated by Andy from an estate sale for $10.00 each. With boxes.  I bought them all.  All twelve.  What a steal.  Both of us, seller and buyer walked away from the deal feeling like bandits.  The best kind of a deal.

I have done business with Andy and Julia for several years and have always had a good experience. My parents live in Portland, OR and the Petersens have graciously hosted me and various members of my family at their home/business when I've visited. Like Paul, I have been grateful for Andy's follow-up on hard-to-find items. He'll commit to looking for a car I've asked for and almost every time somehow finds it on one of his buying trips. I will continue to be a customer--great people to do business with!
