Now through December is the time you can find tinplate buildings in stores. The club I am a member of has a $100.00 limit on purchases without the club voting on the purchase. Because of this my tinplate layout doesn't have the **** Gate Bridge or many of the other classic tinplate buildings. I take advantage of this time of year to shop for cheap tin buildings for the layout.
Two years ago Christmas Tree Shops had a great selection. Last year all their holiday buildings were wood. Michaels had some great buildings two years. They had nothing last year.

I was able to buy a tin lantern from Lowes last year shaped like a church, I bought two of them and combined them to make one large structure. I bought a large tin barn from Walmart as well.Last year both Target and Kohls had a great selection of tin buildings.

The reason for this thread is to alert our fellow tinplaters where they can find tin buildings during holiday season. Thus far I have seen;
1) Target has their smaller tin Halloween buildings out. They are $5.00 each and yes just like all metal they can be repainted. I hope they have more tin buildings for Christmas.

2) Ollies has some tin buildings for $4.99. They are set up as lanterns but they can be altered.

3)Walmart already has a tin black metal church out for Christmas and I have bought one to repaint.

Please add your tin building finds to the list.

Thanks for the info SS. I love this church, can't want to see it repainted.  I found a tin building via enabler "Papa" Eastman here that I repurposed as a large church on my Upstairs layout by adding some magnet signage.
