TIU died

Which version is the TIU?  Turn it over and look on the bottom. If it is a Rev G, there will be no indication. All the other Revs have the Rev marked on the bottom. BTW, if it turns out to be a Rev G, it is likely not worth repair. Save your $$ and buy a Rev L.

Hopefully you have a PC, this cannot be down on a phone, tablet or MAC.  Reload the software.  Download and use the current 6.1.  This fix should work on any revision.

There is no rev indication on the bottom of the TIU ( so it must be Rev G) My remote is running 6.1 but does not see TIU. I figure the TIU needs to be replaced.

Doug, Barry Broskowitz mentioned this rare problem a number of years ago.  You may not need a new TIU and to pay the moronic prices people are charging for them.  This may, or may not, work but it costs $0 while a new or used TIU might be $600-$800.

If your remote is 6.1 then your TIU is likely 6.1 as well.  You will not need to reload the remote but the TIU will need to be reloaded.    Reloading will set the TIU to #1, if you only have one this is not an issue otherwise you will need to reset the TIU number to whatever it was previously.

The 9 blinks is an indication of a failure of the microprocessor or memory.  There is no fix for this if the software reload doesn't work except a trip to MTH Serrrrrv,  never mind.  I would look for a a REV G as well if the software load isn't helpful.

True enough, Marty, no warranty implied but at $0 it is worth a shot.  After that it is an MTH tech, wait for the WTIU or pay a gangster the ridiculous price on eBay.

I agree it's worth a shot.

Reloaded TIU software. Powered back up- still 9 blinks- dead as door nail. Looking to get another TIU ( rev L preferably ) and prefer not to go to ebay

If any member has a TIU ( rev L preferably ) for sale I would be interested

GGG changed the chips I talked to him about it but chips no longer available!
