I saw somewhere that someone was advertising 3D printed ( I think) holders for both TMCC and Legacy hand held throttles. anybody know who this was. Rick

I use plastic drinking cup holders from the auto parts store to hold my Cab-1's. You do need to drill a hole in them to screw them to the fascia, but they only cost a buck or two.

I bought one of Ray's also and am very satisfied with it. The long run of my layout is about 40' long, so I mounted it to the track fascia about halfway. I needed a place to put the Cab-2 so I can read the paper or do work on my workbench and still see and listen to the sounds of trains running.
I wasn't thrilled with the grey color, so I painted the holder satin black before mounting. I'll try to take a pic tonight and post tomorrow.

How difficult is it to place the remote down at your control panel or similar location.
If the holder offered drop protection I’d see a purpose.

No one is forcing you to buy anything!!! Don't see a need, don't buy it.. It's really that simple........
I haven't bought one yet, but I admit they caught my interest when I saw them. If Ray keeps making them, I may be in for one or 2 one day.
To me, my time and effort are worth something too. If it's only a couple bucks worth of 3d printing material, I'm fine with that. It's worth it to me for not having to: a) do the drawings, b) wait for it to print, and oh yeah c) even have my own 3d printer set up at home to begin with .
Looks like a decent product.

Hi guys,
These are what I use to hold my hand helds, they are made out of a material called MAKROLON by Bayer. It is a clear plastic which I picked up at a plastics factory. I picked it up as a cutoff. The piece I purchased was 12" x 4' cost $2.00 and enough material to make at least ten holders.

Thanks for posting the photos. Looks as if everyone has their own ideas. I drop the remote right on the layout when not using it.

Yea I just set it down on the layout or on the counter. Then forget where I left it and the search begins. A nice looking holder or two is starting to look like a good idea.
I use guitar wall hangers for the LionChief and MTH DCS remotes. I use a Hefty bag for the CAB2 remote. The CAB2 remote is a little too wide to fit in the guitar wall hanger.

Micro-Mark makes a remote holder. I use it for my CAB-1 remotes. Works great.
