TMCC Railsounds issue

Did you perhaps turn down the volume?  Try AUX1/1 a few times and see if you get sound.

Thanks!!  You are truly an asset to the hobby!!  You and a few others make up for what i (IMO) incomplete manufacturer's technical help and/ or poor documentation.  The TMCC (much less other more advanced systems) can be a real head-scratcher for some of us. 

I THINK I pushed AUX _(4??)__ to get into this fix in the first place.  Where in the instructions or manual can I find this stuff??

For Legacy, it's a bit more complicated than that.  There are actually two volume settings.  You can turn background sounds off like chuff or prime mover without affecting whistle/bell and crew-talk.  You can also turn the master volume down controls all the sounds.

AUX1/1, AUX1/1, AUX1/1, AUX1/1, or AUX1/4, AUX1/4, AUX1/4, AUX1/4, controls the volume of background sounds.  AUX1/1/1/1/1/1/1 turns up the master volue, and AUX1/4/4/4/4/4/4/4 will turn down the master volume.

OK, let's try to clear up something I've been wondering a while.  If using a Cab-1 (TMCC) control with a Legacy engine, should you follow the directions in the TMCC user's manual or the directions (where possible) in the Legacy user's manual?  Conversely, when using a Cab-2 (Legacy) control with a TMCC engine, which instructions for use does one follow?

I understand how opinions can vary, so let's be respectful to each other when answering, please.

Clicking on the link in the posts above, I was able to download the Lionel Command Control Manual, which is dated 1995, and "Chesterfield, MI".   So, I appreciate that information.

I think I am not alone, in that I started in O Gauge just 3 years ago or so,  with postwar, and eventually bought a Cab-1 system and TMCC equipment based on the reasonable cost and wide availability of TMCC locos and control system.  The "Control System OGR Forum" and  "sticky" by  Rich Melvin contains this information.

True enough, but since the OP said he was running a Legacy engine through a Cab-1 TMCC system, I was always under the impression that the user controllable adjustments would have to be made in conjunction with the TMCC directions, not the Legacy Cab-2 instructions.

Do I have it backwards ?
