I need HELP,  I purchased this TMCC F-3 from a Forum member a few years ago and I just got it out of the box and tried to run it but it didn't go over to well.  Seems like the rear motor doesn't want to run and when I finally figured out how to get the body off of the frame, what you see in front of the rear truck (please don't mind all the clutter on my bench) are what appear to be 4 pieces of a curved magnet material and a little screw.  The magnet pieces were attached to all kinds of stuff in the rear of the unit.  I have no idea what or where they go and they appear to have been glued to something but I can't see what.  The little screw I am in the same boat with it also.  It was just rolling around and I can't seem to see what it might have gone to.

Can anyone give me some pointers as to what has happened and how to fix it and can I fix it.?    I'm sorry, I don't know the Lionel Item number at the moment, I'm trying to find it but not having much luck.  The Rd # on this unit is 16 and it has a matching B unit to go with it.

Thats the Odyssey magnet that came off the flywheel on the left motor in your photo..

Easiest fix is to replace the the motor driver on the far right with an ERR Cruise M. The cheapest but much harder solution it to get a new magnet along with a FixIt flywheel and replace the flywheel. The hard part is removing the flywheel without bending the shaft.

What is the number of the engine? Lionel may have a complete motor.

Actually, the flywheels are typically pretty easy to remove.  I take them off without taking the motor out of the truck since many Lionel trucks are a PITA to remove the motor from.  I just use the Timko wheel puller and yank the flywheel, then repair it with the Fix-It flywheel and magnet.

@J.motts, wow, I’m glad to see all of the components that make up a TMCC F3 Lionel diesel, it’s a Bunch of parts, my simple advice, make an appointment with Gunrunner John if he has the time. You’ll be glad you did. Great thread, oh, another thought, always check out your new engines upon arrival, and notify the seller pronto. I’m sorry you had this problem. Now this applies to new engines too, it’s hard to believe that new engines sometimes have issues. I’ve learned this the hard way more than once, but now, I’ll check everything out upon arrival. GRJ, thanks also for your response, I was hoping you would chime in on this.  I have a feeling that it was broken when I received it but that's water under the bridge now.  I sent you an email a few minutes ago about it.
