Have have several TMCC locomotives that speed up a fraction after going over one of my switches (Atlas) and then resume their correct speed.. My DCS locomotives do not have the difficulty? Any ideas

as to what I can do? Secondly will getting Legacy help the performance of my TMCC Locomotives, such as horn and the speed problem mentioned. I do have spotty horn performance anywhere on the layout.

Is the TMCC Base to track wire connected to the Common on the output side of the TIU?

If no, try that.

Do the TMCC engines have cruise? Are the atlas switches powered separately?

If not cruise may be an issue of higher potential on the switches and the TMCC engine speeds up due to the voltage. G

If these engine have cruise and this only happens on one switch, the guard rails could be to close to the outside rails pinching the wheels and causing a slight drag. As for the horn performance try cleaning the track and wheels.

Thanks for the info. I will do some experimenting. Yes, the locomotives is a Sunset Models Mogul and has cruise. My other question, was does, upgrading to Legacy improve Tmcc performance.
