TMCC Steam Engine question - More power | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I have a tmcc steam engine that I run using legacy controls. Starts up good but it slows down every 10-15ft or so and I have to increase power to keep it running then ease off power to maintain a constant speed. What is the deal with this? It slows down around the turns but also slows down in the back of the layout on a straightaway. Hmmm? My other engines run fine on track (legacy, tmcc, lionchief plus) Thank you for any advice.

Simple, it doesn't have cruise control. The "cure" is the ERR Cruise Commander M board.

It's an easy install, and it replaced the modular DCDR in most TMCC manufactured since around 2000 with can motors. If this is an AC motor, you will have to live with it.

Or the Odyssey switch is in the off position? What is the 6 - xxxxx number of the engine?

I'm guessing it's TMCC with no cruise.
