I have used Scalecoat II loco black before.  Let the paint flow to the chip edges and form its own boundaries that way instead of painting over.

I know Scalecoat II is plastic compatible and the 2037 is cast, where Scalecoat I is only metal and wood.  I had Scalecoat II on hand and it worked, I could only assume Scalecoat I would match the same.

The Scalecoat paint will match. The key is afterwards— use a dull cote flat clear coat to make it blend together. It should come out perfect if you use these. Hopefully you will use an airbrush to feather it across the area.

My local train and hobby has gone out of business and local train shows canceled. Looking for a web vendor with a shopping cart possibly.

Stuff like the paint, engine brushes, light lense , whistle spring,odds and ends, a new smoker would be nice.

Is there a vendor you could recommend to me?

For parts try Jeff at The Train Tender.

Scalecoat is also sold directly by the mfg.  Micromark sells paints too, many cross over to the old Floquil and Polly S names.  Scalecoat paint is already identified by railroad name.

Does Jeff take phone orders by any chance? And are there more vendors you could recommend?

Im hoping for a lionel parts site with a shopping cart if possible. Also I do my best to avoid ebay unless there is no other option.
