JackieJr, Incredible skills, quite beyond modeling skills and well into the realm of artistic planning and artistic vision and execution. Really super! Every inch!

P. S. I've never seen this figure. DSCN1051%2520[2%2529 [2)Is it handcrafted?

3-D printed?

Thank You FrankM            Mighty generous with the compliments! To me a model train layout is an art form to be expressed how ever one's imagination can contrive. Yourself being a great example how skillfully it can be approached.

The figure is an Arttista piece; #1185 I believe. The diving figure in front where you see legs & feet may confuse the image.      SEE YA!

My unsolicited two cents......

There is a farm south of us where they raise Bison and sell the meat.

https://www.redrunbison.com/

They have about 300 head.  Its an amazing sight when 10 or 20 of them get up a charging head of steam and go for a run.  I wouldn't want to be the guy trying to move just one.

Scratch built, yes, but a gift to me.

"IMG_7113Discovery of a bygone treasure ... boys day out exploring the extreme back part of the railroad yard."

Such an adventure......

Over the years I have made two discoveries.  Note:  as an adult.  The first was an NYC S class electric on the scrap line at Apex Smelting.  The second was a PRR B3 rat at the N&SS yard.

How either of these locomotives came to Cleveland for disposal is beyond me.

This level of detail very much resembles the HO Franklin & South Manchester, a layout built by George Sellios who owns Fine Scale Miniatures.  I have been to Peabody Mass to see it in person.  There is something special about the gritty urban detail.

Thank you for sharing, Frank.

P51, I can see those vignettes were crafted with much affection for what you were preserving and commemorating. Very, very good to see.

Thank you very much, Frank.

I think that, like you, some here who have seen enough on my layout probably realize that it's more of an attempt to re-create the looks of where/when my folks grew up and a lifelong desire to create that in miniature than it is "just a layout".

It's not that my work is any more special (or better rendered) than any other layout, though, but I never went into it with the idea of, "Man, I want a layout, let me see what theme I can use for that..." There are plenty of better layouts than mine out there, I just do the best I can and hope folks like (or at least appreciate) the results.

There are plenty of times where I'll go into the layout room, sit on a stool and just look at it for a while, without even flipping the master power switch on. I never realized how much I really wanted this until it started looking like a layout (and not just a Plywood Pacific). and I could just take it in every now and then.

I originally did this about 80% for myself, 15 percent for my parents and family (who I doubt will ever see it in person) and 5% for everyone else. That 5% surprised me with their reactions once I started putting it out into the world (online and in magazines) for others to see.

On drives from NJ thru Pennsylvania, and then to Upstate NY along Route 11 N, there used to be several roadside landscape/foliage places that offered plants for quick-sale-n-carry-out which were enjoyable to see. Many of them are out-of-business, now, though I have no idea why, so I am glad I crafted this collective impression of them while I could. I enjoyed doing this project very much. Frank ,the scenes which you create, with the endless amount of detail, are truly amazing!

Thanks very, very much for saying so, Brainsilvermustang, and for doing so with such enthusiasm! I'm going to let myself be complimented by your every word because I had such enjoyment in crafting that vignette - it seems like you have picked up some of that joy and given it back to me with your exceptionally kind words.

Here's a broader view of that little rural plant nursery...Rural Floral Plant Nursery

Frank, two more adjectives that come to mind looking at your above scenes: adorable snd charming.

Firstly , my sincere Thanks to these Forum voices who sent me Likes for my posting on this thread for 9/13/18, "In this working man's part of town" : Briansilvermustang; PRRronbh; Steamer; Gandydancer1950; p51; lee drennen; Trussman; Arnold D. (Maybe I should have weathered that yellow truck,  but I wonder, sometimes, if absolutely everything in town has to be grubby, worn, and not-new [!!!!]….. Sometimes, I just do not know. Feedback welcome.)       FrankM

This is my Hydropower plant. It is a stand alone structure. Sits next to a Mill, across the street from the river,DSCN0430DSCN0406002008 and butts up to the hill in back. I do not have any pics of the building by itself. Thanks for your interest!
