Engine trouble during a delivery to the wharf.
Trouble brewing in a back alley.
I love that shot of the 26th (and my favorite) President! the only man who was awarded a Nobel Prize for Peace, a Medal of Honor for combat and served as President of the United States!
He hated the nickname, "Teddy," by the way...
So, with Memorial Day soon approaching:
Bindlestiff, I'd love to see that scene in color.

Beautiful work Frank! I like your style of modeling'... Excellent in all categories'....
Masterfully done Frank! I love all the scenes! BRAVO!!

its real ballast crushed to a smaller size. I use to haul this stuff they use it for roofing shingles. They also haul it in dump trailers and the dump truckers would dump the excess of up the road on a couple pull offs so they wouldn’t be over weight. That’s where I got it.
Hi Bob Bartizek, Each of those photos is totally enjoyable and interesting. However, I cannot resist giving particular attention to the detail of this rung-ladder , along with its cement pylon base, that you crafted. Amazing and flawless, IMO. The light weathering around the ends of the rungs, on each side, seems exactly right, as is the light weathering to the base itself. And the scale of your track ballasting seems exactly right, also.

This fine Thursday's up close shots.

Moonson, Your 100% correct, Bob Bartizek is a great O “3 Rail Scale” modeler, his layout, a wonderland to behold is built for scale operation. I (our local train group) have visited him several times and his layout is built for point to point operation and it’s finely detailed. You should see his layout featured on OGR THE VIDEO. Get your pop corn ready, it’s a wonderful entertaining show. Your gonna love it.
Trumptrain, your pictures are amazing, the people you have working, (In every aspect of your layout) seem to be super busy. A job well done. Wow.
Briansilvermustang, Great Pictures, both Real and model....You have a lot of trains.
Thanks to all for posting your pictures, they really are inspiring. From me, just a little corner work.

Leapinlarry - Thanks so much for your kind words about my photos! I love creating action scenes for, IMHO, they bring a rich dimension of life energy to the layout.
BTW - I love YOUR layout photos! The one with the postwar illuminated bumper really shows how well you blend postwar Lionel with fine scale scenic detail.
Thanks to Frank and LeapinLarry for the kind compliments. Here's another yard shot (even though it's not still Thursday). These 3 caboose service structures (supply shed, kerosene tank and coal bunker) were scratchbuilt by an HO friend of mine. He was here for an operating session and had a copy of an old Model Railroader article with scale drawings of these structures which were on the Milwaukee Road. He said, "I think these will fit right here in your yard. I'd be happy to build them for you if you want them." After careful consideration (for about half a second) I told him to go ahead! I installed them and added a couple of Woodland Scenics figures.
Randy - Thanks so much for your kind words regarding my photos ! Much appreciated!
Patrick, I found the blue & white B-61 Mack tractor on IXO models, web site. But apparently they are sold out'.. Disappointing....

Quarter Gauger - I bought mine at Die Cast Direct in 2017 or 18 can't remember which. They may still have some. Check em out.
My latest addition to layout:
This old man was found buried in my garage. Very glad I found him and he is now part of my little world. I think he is a college professor, who just had lunch at the Diner, and is now crossing the street to catch a game at Popsicle Stick Yankee Stadium. Arnold

I appreciate you sharing these pictures. The detail in them made me curious to what the rest of your layout was like. By clicking on the link I was taken to a gem of a layout. You truly have done some wonderfully detailed work and make me very proud to model in 3-Rail. Your work is of the highest caliber IMO. Do you have any videos of your masterpiece?

Dave, thanks for the kind comments. The best video of my layout is on OGR's Great Layout Adventures volume 11. It's available from the web store link at the top of this page. Rich and the crew were at my house for 3 full days doing the filming.

Lee, that little branchline station is a paper model from Clevermodels.com. They have quite a few very realistic models to choose from. I love working in cardstock and I'm quite sure you would also. Going to Tiger Tracks train show in Rochester NY Saturday.
My new Bachmann 'trench' 2-6-2T. Once the holidays are over, this is going to be lettered in Army markings, much like (but not an exact match to) the Devenport copies of this type were marked at Fort Benning. I'm also going to take my time with the weathering on this one and savor the experience...

Thanks, scratch built most everything, except of course the old couple and their chickens.
Kevin, I found that the old real metal screening works best for me and people are throwing it away for the new material which isn't very realistic for fences.
This is what it would look like if going by in a rail car. I forgot how this was done I think someone had the software?
Sheesh, things have really fallen apart since DeBlasio became mayor of New York city. Even the prostitutes are back working in the subways -
Up close today: " Restocking the Pullman diner's kitchen."
Fresh fruits and vegetables and a large pumpkin for pies.
Master chef Lanny Lane, in white outfit, hand selects only the finest produce.
Fresh milk and cream from Bedford Creamery.
Truck driver Harvey Olson ( all his friends call him H O ), and loading foreman Hershel Frazier ( sitting on front bumper drinking a soda ) take a break.

Looks great! I want to make something out of styrofoam, and I thought a stone retaining wall would look natural and be a good way to hide wires. I may end up using foliage instead. Thanks.

Up close today: " The wrecked hopper car & the car dept. inspectors." I actually bought this fire damaged Weaver hopper car, as is, off E bay for $5.00 plus $4.00 shipping because I wanted the trucks/couplers. Once it arrived, I thought why not weather the car and create a scene. I later photographed the car in different scenerios before removing the trucks. Here's what I came up with ... including it's delivery by a B&O dockside switch crew. It all takes place on the Free State Junction Railroad's Mountain Division.
