We all pretty much know and acknowledge that you are never too young to begin enjoying trains--watching the real ones and playing with the toys. And Christmas is certainly the logical time to acquaint youngsters to the fun of toy trains.

My three-year-old grandson, Grant, was operating Lionel's Polar Express under our Christmas tree this evening, assisted by Nana (Wendy). Grant is scheduled for open heart surgery on Dec. 13, so we want to give him a full Christmas experience before and, of course, after his surgery. His five-year-old brother, Lucas, is actually Chief Engineer on the Christmas tree line, and he also is quite adept with MTH DCS on Papa's larger O gauge layout downstairs.

Thanks for sharing those precious moments with kids and trains at Christmas. The newborn of members of our church recently had open heart surgery shortly after birth.  Before birth, it was known that major arteries were reversed.  Completely successful. Amazing what surgeries can be done with children.  Prayers and blessings to Grant for a successful surgery and recovery.

Michael
