@dk122trainsWe have been providing coverage of the o scale show for quite a while now. I think we had some of the first YouTube shows providing coverage of this event. The videos have garnered thousands of views which highlights some great features of why it is worth going to the show itself.   As it pertains to the live streams, once Covid shutdown most trains shows including York,  Andy Edelman formerly from MTH thought it would be a great idea to have all manufacturers on together.  In agreement that it was a fantastic idea, we have spearheaded the idea and tried to make it a much larger event each time.  As some others have said, it provides awareness not only to o gauge or the train show but to a lot of the new products manufacturers roll out.  Many train enthusiasts like to get a taste and feel of the items they spend a lot of money for.  We try to cover as much as we can.  These videos can be rewatched at anytime so there is no need to fret if you can’t make it. This is not meant to supplement anything and if you watch our shows we have always been encouraging of attending train shows as we have been loyal attendees and participants for three generations.  We do our best to provide excitement and I guess some entertrainment to the hobby itself. I personally think it just engages and gets more people into the spirit of train season! Thank you for the kind words for the people who do find value in these!

Ken I simply asked a question why on York week. That is not being unkind to anyone.

You may be right, this may very well be the way of the future.

As we all know, York attendance has been dwindling over the last ten years and now that Lionel, Atlas, Bachman and MTH have announced they will not be attending this year's Octobers show many may also decide not to attend.

For me the show was all about talking with the manufactures and seeing new and upcoming products. As most of the train people I associate with live near me and we are lucky to have a number of top ten dealers very close by.

With York rapidly approaching and me not able to attend, I'm looking forward to see all the coverage from all over the forum. Some interesting things always turn up, whether they are what people find, friends bumping into each other and hanging out, or the next new products. I wish I could attend and hang out with those who I've made good friends with. I guess I'll have to wait for next year and this year's coverage. Keep up the good work and coverage all.

I appreciate Trainworld's videos that Kenny has been producing.

I had to have some unplanned surgery which is preventing me from working on repairs for a few months, and killed our plan of attending York so I'm very pleased to hear that Trainworld will be hosting these shows during York.  Helps being connected and involved without being there.

Thanks TW.

Jim

And these days, this is more appreciated than ever. With the gradual extinction of local train hobby shops, folks in most parts of the country no longer have anywhere to go to see new products. Without any chance to look at actual examples of items, you take a risk (and an expensive one!) having to buy things before you've had a chance to see them.
