What do you mean by worse? Its post-Christmas train season in an economic recession, probably a good time to market a few things for folks to spend any extra holiday dollars. Trainworld "blowouts" have always been some of the best deals out there. They don't call themselves the "closeout kings" for nothin Smile.Besides, that most recent email was G ho and n scale stuffon sale,no O Frown
It is only in the last two months that I have gotten Emails from them. I think they are still figuring out thier system and have not yet tailored the sale notifications to the customers interests. I get a ton of stuff about LGB for instance. I wish they would cut back a bit because too many becomes spam. I don't think there is any problem with thier business though.
You only get the emails to which you have subscribed too as previously stated. I am in 3 different gauges and they email regularly on the O and G gauges. This is typical for them for they do a lot of domestic shipping. I have only had 1 damaged delivery after about 14 years using them and they handled it fine. No issues or concerns about the business status of TW.
I receive their e-mail notifications fairly regularly for both O and Large Scale. Not an over-abundance of e-mail like I get from some others, thank goodness! Some of these guys are as bad as Amazon, Lands End, and several others when it comes to flooding you with e-mail. I trash them without even reading them, and have "opted out" of many, but it still is a pain in the rear end. And occasional notice when there is something truly worthwhile is okay, but some carry it to wretched excess.
I've been getting them too, sometimes 3/day!

I don't mind, I've gotten good service from them.

Since I retired 5 years ago I gave up trying to keep up with technology, I feel this has been a BIG mistake. I recently got Verizon FIOS for internet and phone, my daughter came over the other day and programmed our phone so that when SHE calls it has a different ring Eek The longer my wife and I ignore the new features of all this high-tech stuff the farther behind we get. I feel that for LHSs to survive, they need to pull they collective heads out of the sand and pay attention (like we need to do), or else they will fail. This goes for the mom and pop parts suppliers too.
What I have a problem with is when you finally figure out what and how the new thinga a magig works it will become obsolete and you have to start all over.

DRIVES ME NUTS!!!

Back to tread, you have to work the web to survive in this new age of electronics or put out the "out of biz shingle"
The government is committed to go paperless and all money transactions will be done on the net.

Or worse = CLOSING!

Highly doubtful!

When Trainworld/Trainland goes, you'll then know for certain that the entire hobby is in real trouble. Keep in mind that they stock in depth for all of the popular scales.

Trainworld routinely has special sales for select products and product lines. Take advantage of it if you care to, but certainly don't worry about it.
