I tried 3D printing for the first time the other night. I downloaded the outhouse with door open file from here and printed it. It came out nicely, but but quite oversized for O-Gauge. (Unless its the outhouse for the 1045 Operating Watchman )

So my question is, lets assume a real life outhouse is 72 inches tall.  To resize the outhouse  I downloaded closer to 1/48 scale would I multiply the 72"  by 1/48 and then make the answer (1.5 inches) the height of the model outhouse in the printer software and let the software resize the other dimensions ?

Thanks

The short answer is... Yes.   Using the CURA slicer... if you have 'uniformed scaling' checked you should be good to go i.e., the other dimensions will adjust automatically.      All slicers have this function... although they may call it something different.  I just downloaded the same file and went with 82" from floor to roof ridge... it gave me about 6' 2" door height.
