I bought a MTH engine and am trying to find the model number to possibly see if I can get a manual.    I have attached a picture of the box.  The only number on the box is MT-2136LP and the P is written on the label, not printed.  I bought the unit as a dummy unit based on the description.  I did want to try and "reset" it before I pull out the motors/gears.  I tried the advanced search on the MTH web site, but no luck.  I do have a MTH Z4000 so I could try a reset.  Anyone have an idea of how the numbers on the box translate to a typical MTH model #?  Or the reset sequence.

Thanks

Tony

Here is a manual for the RailKing PS3 version: 30dl12947i_Baldwin AS616 Ps3.cdr (mthtrains.com)

And, for the RailKing PS2 model: RKS AS-616 manual ps2.cdr (mthtrains.com)

The 'Premiere' model is shown on page 15 of the 1996 summer catalog; the locomotive is simply listed as Item #2136.

Finally, it looks like this same model (but cab #1560) is up for grabs currently at eBay - listed as 'New'.  As a last resort you might inquire with the seller regarding a copy of the manual.

Not sure if any of that helps?

The label says "electronic reverse by QSI" and "equipped with electronic horn or Protosound...".  So "maybe" it has PS-1?  Or maybe it operates conventionally?  Seems noncommittal to me.

Perhaps open it up to see if it has a battery.  Battery = PS-1 (replace with a BCR before powering up); no battery = conventional?
