Being the son of a Ford dealer, awhile back I started compiling a list of O gauge Ford rolling stock. Today I discovered a new car to add to the list that has me curious. While I have the TTOS Dearborn set from '94 (the 6-52028 set which includes 52029 tank car, 52030 gondola, and 52031 hopper), today I found out there is another Ford Dearborn TTOS single dome tank car, the 52032. The only difference between the two tank cars appears to be the road number (12 and 14 for the 52032 and what appears to be a "Welcome" and facsimile signature from Richard Kughn). It's not listed in the Greenberg guide so, was that tank car sold as a single car for those who didn't want to buy the set? A gift for convention attendees? Something else? Thanks in advance for any info/background.

The 52032 is listed on page 396 of the 2020 edition of Greenberg's Price Guide in the "Other TTOS Production" section.

The only Ford TOFC I have is one that came in the Ford promotional set. Trying to limit my Ford "collecting" to strictly Ford rolling stock items (FMCX, FRDX, etc). If I start into everything with a Ford on it/in it, then this thing would get real out of hand, real fast!

The new Bronco looks cool and I saw the other day the new F-150s are gonna have lay-flat bench seats so you can sleep in your truck. And since I'm always one smart remark away from getting the boot from the missus, that might be a handy option!

I do have the Dick Kughn TTOS version of the tank car...and the box was autographed by Dick too. It was given to me by my granddaughter a few years ago...she had know idea when she picked it up and was quite surprised to find out that I had known Dick since the early 1960’s, long before he acquired Lionel.

Thanks Paul! The signed box is interesting. That brings me back to my initial curiosity: How/where was this car offered? My hunch is that it was offered as a purchase opportunity as part of a tour during that convention, but you know what happens when you assume. Not the most important information in the grand scheme of things, but I always enjoy a good mystery (especially one that's easily solved!~)

Thought maybe seeing the box might be of interest...it does show this to be a 1994 TTOS Convention Ford Tank Car.
