The need for text comes & goes from my experience.

I usually begin with a space and line/carriage return when posting pics only; worked for me

You should keep a backup browser for times when the big updates haven't quite happened everywhere. It often  makes noting whether it's you or OGRF that's the issue, easier.

And if your default browser "breaks" (it happens), you can use your backup to download the browser anew, rather than pay for geeks or toss it.

If you post only a photo and no text, but you do NOT tell the system to insert the photo into the post body, you will get the "Value is required" error. If you click that box, then you could post just a photo and no text.

In the digital world, nothing "...comes and goes..." If you don't click the "Insert all photos..." box, you'll get the error. It's really that simple.

Now that was odd, I put the text above the picture and it showed up below it

You have complete control over where photos show up in your posts. You can click and drag the photo, You can cut and copy the photo or the text...whatever works. But you need to place a carriage return (the Enter key) to place the text properly.

765_RichInWindowThis is what happens if you post a picture and do NOT place a carriage return (hit the "Enter" key) at the beginning line of your text.

This is what happens when you DO put a carriage return (hit the "Enter" key) at the beginning of the text. The text appears on the next line below the photo. That's why this post looks like this:

If Lehigh Valley Railroad had hit the Enter key at the beginning of his line of text, it would look like this:

I am going to attempt it here.

The picture will go wherever you want it to. It won't "jump ahead" of anything unless you let it.

If you want the picture AFTER the text, then move it there. Click and drag it where you want it. Or cut and paste it where you want it. You do not have to accept the default formatting.

Here's what you posted:

 Another test

(this was done with inserting picture, i added the words ‘another test’ first, then the picture jumped ahead of that)

It took about 10 seconds to change it to this:
