Super Photo Keith and Excellent vantage point. John shot this from under the bridge, and the steam whistle-through-the-overpass on the first 9 seconds is my fav as well. Farmington, MN. July 18th 2019

Here's mine. Credit to my friend John who braved the snakes and wetlands whilst I was up top, out of snakes way.

I missed my chance at seeing 4014 as my wife and I went to a week-long tour of Colorado tourist RRs the previous month, so no way I had the time to get to Utah and I didn't wanna fight those crowds anyway.

It was scheduled to come up to the Pacific NW (probably no further than Portland as that's as far as 3985 came several years ago) but COVID killed that. I was hoping maybe they'd run 4014 up here this year but I wouldn't bet on that. They'd done all the planning, so I hope once life gets somewhat back to normal, I'll finally get to see a Big Boy in steam.

One thing, though; I really hope they'll take the painted "chalk marks" off the firebox door. Only 4000 had that marking for a very short time (though some debate even that, and I've never seen photos of the real markings) and while it was funny for the first few runs, I wanna see 4014 as she was intended!

Yeah, I wondered about that when we saw her in the St. Paul "The Depot", and I just thought it was the crew. She was a handful, and gorgeous Gal making smoke! and, well, BIG

4014 HiBall Cambridge 8x10-4014 Plaque_8x10-

I first saw her less than 2 miles from my home on the Cambridge subdivision where she stopped to grease.  The pic of her under steam above was shot from the South Main Street overpass as she resumed travel on her way to the Lake Superior Railroad Museum in Duluth.  I spent the weekend in Duluth where I took the photo of her front end and badge.  Hundreds of other pictures were taken but these two tell the story for me.
