Today I opened my kindle (where I have my Lion chief app and updater) and was notified by the updater that  firmware version 1.3 was available for my universal remote.  I followed instructions provided (what an idea!) and the update went smooth as silk.  Nice work to Lionel!

I may have missed that this was coming but I assume all of us with universal remotes will want to look for this upgrade.

V1.3 has been out since last fall.  The big change is it allows your Universal Remote to become a “hot spot” so you can control non-Bluetooth equipped LionChief/LionChief Plus locomotives with the LionChief app.  I think there might be a couple of features that do not work, but I cannot recall which ones.

The big feature with the hotspot I found not to work is the chuffing for steam smoke on the LC+ locomotives, at least my Camelback!  That was a deal killer for me.

My kindle and I  have been in quarantine for a long time it appears!

Thanks for answering my next question on changes, I need to try the hotspot feature. Anything else I have been missing?
