Unstoppable

Wow an "action movie" thats unrealistic.  How can this be??  Surely all the other ones made over the years are.

It was a hell of alot more entertaining than this yawner

Side note:

As someone who drives a Mack truck for a living.  The dubbing over of  Detroit diesel sounds for that Mack RS700 in the Convoy movie  is absolutely reprehensible. 

The remake was better!

The irony here is while some are critiquing this movie, there's three families in Calgary grieving the loss of a real life "Unstoppable". Think about that one.

Now I am in complete distress. Chris Pine is a total fake and disappointment. I thought he was a prototypical actor, only performing in authentic films, filmed within prototypical constraints.

I did get to watch Unstoppable being filmed in Benwood WV, Bellaire OH and Martins Ferry OH.  The police cars chasing 777 and wrecking was hilarious.

Watching the movie, one must suspend belief and the Laws of Physics.

Somewhere I have pics of the tank cars used in the movie.  They were at Buncher Railcar in Youngwood, PA after filming to have the movie lettering removed.

Oh my Farmer Bill...........the bad news is..............scrapple isnt real (healthy for you) . You may have to crop rotate on your scrapple farm!

You could always get cuttings from Frank Zappas'  Dental Floss Farm and start over..............

Yes they did, and when I was a kid back in the early '50's that's how I ran my Lionel, right off the table.

Look at how real that looks.

I didn't like Unstoppable because they used my name for the lazy villain who caused the problem. Anyway, would have never happened if it had been a steam workhorse pulling that consist.

Reminds me of a 1974 made for TV movie called Runaway!  A Ski Train from Winter Park to Jackson City (aka Denver Union Station) lost it's brakes and couldn't stop and the dispatcher dispatched a new 'super diesel' ( aka a GP-40) to couple on the rear car and bring the train to a stop. This was filmed on the D&RGW and I remember seeing 2 units lettered Serra Pacific running back and forth on the line for about a month.

Another train disaster movie that was taking place in Colorado was call 'Atomic train!' A derailment of a train carrying a nuclear bomb derailed and exploded in the mountains. I guess Glenwood Springs got vaporized.

Both of those movies were far worse than Unstoppable.  And you can add "Disaster on the Coastliner" to that list.

I remember watching this movie as well and I doubt it won any film awards but I would like to see it again only because of where and when it was filmed.
