Can the DCS Remote and TIU be updated from ver 3.10 directly to the latest version (6.1?)?

There was and is no requirement to incrementally update (example 3 to 4 to 5 to 6).

At one point I think there may have been. Barry would have covered it in his book, what version that was. There should be no issue trying to load to 6.10 though. G
I just recently updated a TIU/Remote for someone that had 3.xx on it, don't remember the exact version, but it was old. I also updated a remote with 2.xx on it to 6.1, that worked fine as well.

I've been idle with running my trains for about about 10 years. Both my Legacy Control System and MTH DCS needed to be updated to the latest firmware. The LCS was still on version 1 so I sent it to Lionel for the update to version 1.7/1.6 (it's back now & in-hand). Now onto the DCS for upgrade. Since it's only software requiring update, I can handle that.
I appreciate all the willingness of forum member to assist and help with answering questions and providing guidance.
