The engine seems to have a bad leading truck. When running the lead truck comes off the rails. It doesn't happen in one spot but all over the layout. Mostly on curve sections but also straight sections. Mainline radius O72. Is there anyway to adjust the leading truck to stay on the rails.

I’ve got one of these engines and I haven’t had any issues. I’m running on Lionel tubular track with Ross switches. What track are you using?
I had a problem with the trailing truck derailing and I discovered (with help from that team here) that I was missing the guide screw for the truck (which I later discovered in my carrying box).....turn your engine over and check.

Because people buy them and I thought they were toy trains???? I bout the army one and love it I also have to old Kline version I am repainting to something other than NYC and B &A.

In this case was the first chance had to actually stretch the legs of my 4-6-6T after Lionel did their repair. Although had tested it on the dynamic test stand soon after picking it up from repair.

Sorry people I never got the replies. Must have been intercepted by the Spam Blocker. I have a mix of Atlas and Ross switches. The track is a mix of Atlas and Gargaves. It doesn't seem to matter which type of track or switch. It seems to run fine for a while then the front truck gets off the track.
Running only straight through on Atlas O-72 switches, I haven't had any such problem so far.
