Mr. Muffin,

I’m really excited to hear of the PRR RS-27’s, a gorgeous model in one of my favorite road names!  I found another great picture of #2412 online, and I gotta say, I’m really glad to see it included in your custom run.

A quick question, if you happen to have time: will the model come in dark green or black? Just curious, those classic photos sometimes make it tricky to tell the exact color!

With respect to freight diesel engines, the correct exterior color for everything above the running gear is called Dark Green Locomotive Enamel (DGLE).  Despite the spelled out description, when applied to locomotives, it almost looks like black paint with an ever so slight green tinge.

So, any model that "looks" green would not be appropriate.  Most manufacturers get this right.

I’m in for the PENNSY CLASS A.  When is the deadline for ordering?

Just an FYI for anyone that does not receive Steve's emails.

Custom run orders are due 2/11/2022.

Also, according to the email I received yesterday regarding 2022 Volume 1 custom run engines, with a minimum order of 40 engines for a custom run, Steve needs additional preorders for most of them.

For the record, I have one SD40-2 custom run engine on preorder, I hope it receives sufficient preorders to be made.

I've got the Milwaukee SW-1 on order. The black paint scheme dates to 1939 or 1940 and is perfect for both WWII era layouts as well as steam/diesel transition era. I really hope it gets enough pre-orders to get produced. (The Beer Line needs this switcher to help quench the mighty thirst of all those dog faced soldiers on maneuvers in Louisiana).

Speaking of the deadline, don’t forget the Atlantic in the Nickel Plate Road livery. It’ll be a sharp looking engine for your fleet and is a unique addition for any NKP fan.

Artwork for the NKP Atlantic is now available on the same link. It’s gonna be terrific. (The artwork for green berk is also fantastic).
