I purchased a used PS2 20-2252-1 U50C and when I added it to my dcs seemed like no issues. It added as normal and started up with all the lights working but as I started to run it stopping and reversing the headlight, tail light and ditch lights stopped working. As I started looking at the soft key function to turn them on/off I notice the cab lights come on with the number board function. There is funtions listed for panographs and this engine has none. I've done a factory reset but come back with the same functions that seem not related to this engine. Then i notice it addressed it to the same address as my GG1. I'm thinking some how it is now showing the wrong functions for this engine. I've done several factory resets and changed the address but still no headlights and wrong function key controls wrong light feature.

Can a ps2 engine somehow download another engines functions when added to the same address?

So I updated the sound file with the MTH loader, the process went smoothly enough, but the problem still exists. I've done a factory reset on the engine before and after updating the sounds file. It still has odd softkey options showing pantagraph options and the lights still don't function properly. Cab lights and number boards light together but have separate function keys.

Not sure what else to try.

You downloaded the U50C sound file and it still shows a pantograph function on the softkeys? Did you delete the old address and reloaded the handheld?

Yes, I use the sound file associated with the model number. I also tried the upgraded sound file but got a not-compatible message. I assume that is the PS3 file. they both were listed on the engine page https://mthtrains.com/20-2252-1
