So we have finally started running trains this late in the summer. I tried to show a different perspective around the layout. It really shows that I haven't done anything more inside towards finishing the layout. I just enjoy running trains so that's what I do. I do need to have some scenery done to better enjoy the layout.

My Allegheny blew up at the end of the Sat. session.  (GGG take note)

Urrgggg! Now, I really have some work to do!

Thanks!

Mike, I only run conventional for tests, G scale before upgrades, and sometimes on temp layouts like around the Christmas trees. I prefer command and running large diesel consists.

Thanks for getting back to me Joe! I am sure I can ask in the DCS section about running conventional with my DCS. Once again Nice trains!

Joe there are times when you need to take a break from construction whatever it may be and just run some trains. It helps you regain focus on what you need to do to improve your O Scale empire. I've been building display track cabinets and the final sections of the inside modules lately, I still have one 6' and two 3' cabinets as  well as one inside module to construct which will complete the carpentry phase in a couple of months.

Like you I am running trains in order to remind myself what this is all about, keep working you will reach the point where you want to be. It just takes time and money and some fun during the process to prevent "Burnout".

Impressive train by the way, should you have double-headed? Best Regards; Gene

Matt, They sure are quieter! I don't have enough stock 3 rail cars anymore to compare.

That's for sure. Even on the club layout's sections of Gargraves track (hollow rail) the 2-rail cars are much quieter. Maybe it's the smoother wheel surface coupled with a better contact area.

By the way, you're still having way too much fun Keep it up.

Here's the rest of the trains we ran this past weekend. The G scale ones I posted on the Hongz forum.

and away we go!

this diesel consist ran fine on the outer loop. I'm not sure what happened the next time we ran when the sound started cutting out, after my Allegheny quit BTW. Gremlins?

I shoved the camera too close and focused it on the inside of the tunnel instead of the trains. That shows off the unfinished inside of the mountain that still isn't finished. More work to do.
