Thanks, it's the start of a couple of audio projects, as you can see in the thread.
I picked my set up yesterday at Legacy Station in person as I look for excuses to go there when I can. I asked them if we could give it a go in the store which they are always happy to do. Within a few "squeals" on the test track, a crowd gathered around, some asking if there were anymore in the back...
This kept the staff busy looking up peoples' preorders that may have been already shipped to them, or running in the back for the lucky few.
I really hope Lionel starts making just separate sale freightsound cars in many liveries and not just in multi-car sets like refers, tankers or even boxcars (from many eras). I would love to have a few of these scattered in a consist.
Imagine if they can hide everything in a hopper with fake coal load or may be a combine passenger car? Lots of possibilities...
Scale and traditional size cars could also benefit from this. Hopefully, we will start seeing this in the future.

I second it.
I'm working as fast as I can to have single cars with audio capability.
Well, I'm hoping there are plenty, it's a larger board and more components than the Super-Chuffer. I haven't gotten assembly quotes on it yet, still trying to develop the ideal product. I'd like to have the one with both command and RF capability be the product, that will suit the widest audience.

Did they say when they are going to ship? I ordered two and have not heard anything. Seems like I'm always at the bottom of their list. I guess they go in order which they were received which is fair.
I believe they came in on Friday, and Brian at Legacy started shipping them back out the same day from what I overheard him tell another customer in the store.
I have 4 sets coming from Charles Ro, I will receive 1 set tomorrow and 3 sets Tuesday. The funny thing is the 1 set I ordered late last year well after I had pre-ordered the first 3 sets right after they were announced. After this last York they told us that only 1 of the sound cars could be set up as the programed car under the Legacy controller, the others would still put out sounds but the programed have the main functions.

This is interesting? Can you explain this better? will the others be a slave to the command car (ie repeat announcements and commanded dialog) or do the others operate in some mode of preprogrammed sounds. This news could potentially kill the desire to buy more than one depending on how they operate. I guess this might be why Lionel only packaged one sound car with the lot and not two like the tank cars. Does anyone out there have multiple sets to provide exactly how they work together?

At York I came near the very end of one of their demonstrations which ended with the PFE reefers. And I talked to Mike Reagan about them for a few minutes about them. My impression was that all of the cars will have the rail sounds as they go around but that only one can be programed with Legacy and that one will give different commands for things you can do with that car but not for the others.
I'm not sure why it's a surprise only one car has sound-it was clearly stated in the catalog. Pg 8-9, Signature 2014.
What previous offerings included is irrelevant, these are different cars.
Those unhappy with only one car sound: I'll gladly buy them from you. E-mail is in profile.
