Nothing like the look and sound of that BB moving along.  Patiently waiting for the next production run.

And now it starts.

What an interesting post.  I can't knock the guy who originally tried the repair, though...I've been learning on the fly on a series of locos I recently bought at auction with a bunch of extra PS1 boards.  But my overall investment was very low, and I am not tinkering with anything near as expensive as that Big Boy.  I suspect Alex would have a heart attack if he opened some of the stuff I did and took a look.  I'd be right at the top of the electronics Hall of Shame.

But it's comforting to know that, if I ever did have reason to get a super expensive part fixed, folks like Alex are out there to deal with it.

BTW...what an incredible looking model.  The blowing whistle with the separate smoker was so cool!

I find it interesting that everything is in the engine and it doesn’t need the tender!  Are a lot of Lionel engines like that?

Thanks for the video; that's a very impressive locomotive and repair--your customer should be very happy.

And thanks for including the date of the update.

Carl

They need to have the same warning sticker on Vision Line as on a Nuclear Reactor:

NO USER SERVICEABLE PARTS

Wow, that BB runs great! Excellent job Alex! But what happened to that poor NYC tender that is lying upside down?

Wow Alex!  I know the smoke units on my Vision Challenger were bad (per your pictures), but not this bad!!  BTW, I never got back to you that I'm extremely happy with how your repairs turned out!!
