A friend asked me to make some coal and gravel loads for the new Walthers HO 2 bay hoppers. Since the slope sheets start at the top, I had to taper the ends of the base, in this case, 1/8" structo-glass fiberglass wall panel material. I made two test loads, one coal and one gravel to determine the correct length so the load looks appropriate. I started with 4 1/4" long strips, and made a sample load of each material. I will lengthen the base for the coal load, but since the gravel is heavier then coal, I will keep the base shorter. Here are some pics of the gravel load.Walthers 2 Bay 10 panel Hopper with Gravel 001Walthers 2 Bay 10 panel Hopper with Gravel 002Walthers 2 Bay 10 panel Hopper with Gravel 003

Things are good here DON.  Yes a very easy tutorial you have done.  I used Black Beauty sand blaster medium from Tractor Supply along with water  soluble Deft.  Worked great.  Take care of things up there in NE PA.  See you at YORK sometime?

Probably next October for York. Supposedly, the fairgrounds officials have closed the grounds until summer. I checked their web site, and nothing is on their schedule until June. Next close show is in Kutztown in May that I know of.
