I want one too
Same. So now we need 3 of them
There was one in Indy. Mystery why it hasn't been redone and wonder what happened to all the Weaver brass engine tooling.
What is the history of the prototype engine. It is sure distinctive!
Weaver made some great art deco Pacific steamers in the 1990's and early 2000's, the Tennessean being one of them. I recall that Jim Barrett searched for a Cincinnatian for a long time and finally found one. I believe I saw it when his trains were auctioned off by Steve Nelson. So these things do come up.
There's one up for bid on that auction site right now... (not by me, I like mine too much to sell it!)
I was alerted to an auction for the loco on Stout's Auctions, happening in a few days. There are already several bids—including mine! The question is, how much do we (or I) want that engine?
Okay, it was a choice: pay off the National Debt, or buy the locomotive. So I did the patriotic thing: I bought the loco. For waaaay to much, but hey, no wife, no kids. So my quest for this engine is very happily (until I get the credit card bill) concluded!
Congratulations! Life is too short. I always found I enjoy the engine way more than I lament the price!
Ah Ha! Great! I asked about this on your other thread. Believe it or not I actually took time out to tune into the auction just about the time it came up for bids - I was hoping you were the one when the hammer fell. BTW - if you can pay by check the premium goes from 19% to 16% ...and I agree with Gerry.
Getting up there. Screenshot of bids:
Already up to $885 with 11+ hours to go. Somebody has deep pockets
