Took the body, chassis, wheel and idler gear off of my prewar 158 motor. So I thought I would Fire the motor up (note the word fire).
Hooked up some test leads to the motor then applied voltage to the motor, great it was running nice. With this I had the bright idea to apply a spray contact cleaner when the engine is running to help clean things out. Bad Idea as soon as I stopped spraying the contact cleaner the motor/cleaner burst into flames (sparking brushes). I was able to blow it out but lost some hairs on my left hand. The motor still works and the hairs will grow back and nothing burnt down. Learned a lesson that spray contact cleaner and sparks do not match. Please learn by my stupid lesson and read the labels on the can first. This could also happen with any spray oil.
