Those that own Weaver troop sleepers and express service cars should check out the thread on the traditional 3 rail forum.  The post over there alerted me to the problem and a solution to address it.

Two railers should know that Scale City Designs sells a replacement bolster for the Weaver troop sleeper trucks that brings the side frames closer to the wheel face.  They took a little fiddling to install but the improved appearance was well worth the effort.  Does anyone know if AtlasO's 2 rail troop sleeper car trucks use a narrower bolster than their 3 rail ones?

Thanks for the info Mario.  I called Phil at JR junction and he told me he was sold out of the replacement underframes.  He graciously was willing to reorder more underframes but since I only needed one I ordered directly from AtlasO.  At $35.55 (shipped) it was expensive.  If I didn't have as many queued up (and far more interesting projects) on my to do list I would have built a new wood underframe.  One positive was that it came in painted.

I look forward to Scale City's news about replacement coupler pockets.   Those grossly wide AtlasO coupler pockets really detract from their otherwise good looking freight cars.

I have several Atlas troop express cars and they do have a more narrow bolster than the original Weaver bolster. Looks much better. However, I removed the trucks and replaced them with different style trucks on the Atlas New Haven troop baggage cars.

I'd appreciate it if someone with a troop sleeper would post a picture of the car's underframe setup.  I messed up   and didn't take a picture of the general arrangement of the brake rigging before removing the bent and broken floor.  A picture  would take the guesswork out of knowing where to install the old castings on the new underframe.
