Frank Miller, a prolific and talented builder of brass engines and tenders, passed away this week due to complications from a fall. He was 89 and a terrific modeler and a good friend. Frank built more than 50 engines and a number of tenders as well. He built models of various prototypes and of engines from around the world. His reputation spread far and wide as he had customers in Europe as well as the US.

Frank also had a beautiful, fully complete layout in his home when he lived in Yardley, PA, that was operated by a large crew of friends.

Frank was generous in his time and willing to teach anyone how he did things. If you were interested in building an engine or repairing a damaged model, he would spend as much time as you needed to help you complete the job. He will be sorely missed!

Services for Frank are Monday, April 9th at the Beck - Gibnish Funeral Home, 7400 New Falls Rd., Levittown, PA  Phone - 215 946 7600. Viewing is from 10 Am to Noon, service immediately following.

There is a luncheon following the service. It will be at the Yardley Country Club.

Frank was one of a dying breed of model railroaders. Very few could do things that he did. OGR did a video of his layout that I have and it was a grand beautiful scratch built creation.  As in the fate of most layouts, the owner retired, relocated, it was disassembled, taken down and is no more, but Frank left his mark on the hobby. May he rest in peace with Christ in heaven.
