I concur. Great scene @poconotrain. For the OP I agree with using black wash to weather the church. Years ago when I was into tabletop gaming using black wash was a great way to make the figures pop and it carries over well to here too. Paint the church how you want it like poconos did and then for the final step use the black wash. You can youtube "using wash on miniatures" to get an idea but I can't find any specific videos using it for scenery.
