I like Weaver cars and have noticed these "automobile" cars coming up occasionally on various auction sites.  I had not noticed them before, and they were a blank spot on my radar.  Was this a series Weaver did or does anyone have details on how many versions were made? Here is an example.  I seem to remember a Studebaker and several others of that vintage.  Thanks in advance for any details.

The terraplane appears to have been quite the car in its day.

Weaver also ran custom paint and lettering jobs on their cars for other outfits to sell.  The cars in question painted and lettered for long gone marques may have been run for some antique or classic automobile group.  Weaver also did special jobs for some hobby shops and rail interest groups as well as O Scale National Convention cars at times. They were not cataloged by Weaver so far as I know.

I bought this special edition PS-2 covered hopper car from Mr. Weaver himself at the O Scale National Convention held at White Haven PA in 1987. He had most of the cars done with special end lettering noting the convention and a few without.  It was near the end of the meet when I got this one and it doesn't have that special end lettering.  While talking with him, he told me about some of the special paint and lettering jobs his plant had done for other groups with his production models.
